aJile Prototyping

I'm looking for a cheap way to mount aj-100 chips for prototyping. Frys sells some vector boards with a raised solder mask that can be used to manually solder chips to the surface. Since I don't have surface mount soldering capabilities I was wondering if anyone has any other suggestions. The Frys solution doesn't say if it will work on LQFP packages. It also looks like it requires a very steady hand while soldering.

Here's what the Fry's board looks like. I need to mount two chips per prototype system. As far as I know, the aj-100 is not offered in packages that can be socketed.

Thanks in advance!
